Capitol Avenue Museum is a slim downtown building that treats city hall, newspapers, and protest posters as design objects as much as documents. Lila Montgomery rotates a front gallery every season so regulars come back. It is more adult than the kids’ museums and excellent before a nearby dinner. The stairwell is a timeline of mayoral portraits that locals argue about.
